The "Maleviziotikos" dance or "Maleviziotis" is a Cretan war dance which was named so as it was first danced in the Malevizio District. It is also found as "Kastrinos", taking its name from Heraklion which was formerly called Kastro. It is a leaping dance. It is one of the fastest and most lively Cretan dances.
