Syrtos sta 2 / Pogonisio
Epirus
The Syrtos is a traditional Greek dance that dates back to ancient Greece. The name of the dance comes from the ancient Greek word "syro" (to dance).
This dance was danced in an open circle, double, triple or quadruple circle, depending on the region, by dancers who performed the same movement. The position of the dancers in the multiple circles (inner circles of women and one outer circle of men) did not depend on their age or social class.
Although it can be danced in one circle and men dance separately from women.
