Tik Monon (Tik Single) is one of the most representative and basic traditional dances of the Pontic people, originating mainly from the Matsouka region, near Trebizond.
The name comes from the Turkish word "dik", which means "upright" or "straighten", referring to the proud, upright posture (leventias) that the dance requires.
