The Trata dance is believed to imitate the movement of fishermen as they drag their nets, which is how it got its name.
Others say that this particular dance is not related to fishing, as if it had such an origin, it would be a male dance. So for them, the dance got its name from the day it is danced, Easter Tuesday (Triti).
